Rajini in Sivaji is COOL...

Oh, this movie is a real treat for all those Rajini fans... I have always liked seeing on Rajini's style on screen and for such fans, this movie is a real treat... I felt like Rajini has been re-invented by Dir. Shankar in this movie!! and though this movie is around 3 hrs 5 mts in length, (without an intermission!), it is not boring for more than 1 minute, only when Shreya is crying!!

though Rajini does look old in quite some scenes, overall, it was refreshing to see various facets of Rajini... like trying to mimic MGR, Sivaji (actor) and Kamal in a half minute song clips.

the first song in the movie is "Suriyano..." was kind of dull with nothing interesting visually... kind of reminded me of a song in Chandramukhi. the songs "Oru Koodai Sunglight" and "Athiradi Kaalam" are very good especially in the theater!!
the settings for "Ambal Ambal" song was very good... dont know if it is some real palace or something. I liked the bright cyan color in that along with hot Shreya ;-)



and now for some minuses...

Story ? nothing special here from Shankar - usual robinhood formula - I feel that Shankar is pushing people's limits a little too far with his social problems theme. many scenes in the movie reminded me of Mudhalvan and Gentleman for some reason... hope the next Shankar's movie will talk about something new... hey, if you cant remove the social problems, why not make money out of it! I think thats what Shankar is thinking :-)

Comedy ? though Vivek has some one-liners, here and there, tries to give a punch dialogue instead of Rajini or imitates Vadivelu, I felt like comedy was little bit lesser than the good old Rajini movies... seems like Shankar needs focus more and add more of good comedy like he did in Gentleman :-)

and to get back to my list of postives :-)

oh finally, the background music is very good too... i also enjoyed the funny cross references to the real world...

all in all, Sivaji is a Cool Rajini movie to watch. It is a delight to the eyes of all those Rajini fans!!!

I have just seen Shreya in some telugu songs... boy, is she is HOT!
